My Dad...Carlos Raymond Dunn...was on the USS West Virginia at Pearl Harbor. He pass away in 1981. I remember his story...it was not a long one, and one he hardly talked about. Growing up, even as a Navy brat, I was never very interested in knowing any more then I do now. With busy lives and a family of my own and also a son in the Navy as well. I suppose age has a lot to do with it and now I'm curious and can't seem to get enough of what happened there that day. I see pictures and think of my Dad in the bowels of that ship fighting for his life and maybe others as well. He emerged in his scivvy's, no shoes, no shirt. He managed to get over to the Tennesee somehow. I know that he didn't swim as I would have remembered. He went hand over hand on a moor line over to the Tennesee is this possible??? It's funny how memory is. But this is all I can remember of my Dad's story. And pathetically all I can pass to my children, with a couple of old photo's of the West Virginia.

Thanks for letting me share...thanks for being here...and if anyone has ever heard of my Dad I would love to hear from you, or anyone that would just like to say hey.

Sincerely, Pamela Houle
