Robert G. Methe, Baker l/c, born Aug. 17, 1922, Springfield, MA, completed the ninth grade and joined the USN on Aug. 26, 1940. He was stationed at Newport, RI; aboard the USS West Virginia; Yorktown, PA; Midway Isle; and the Naval Receiving Station, Philippine Islands.

Memorable experiences were of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, and Midway Isle on June 4, 1942. He was discharged on Aug. 28, 1946, as Baker 1/c.

He and his wife, Bernice, have been married for 43 plus years and have three children and three grandchildren. He worked for Boeing Co. for 33 years as material man "a" until retirement on Sept. 1, 1985. He is a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors and a life member of VFW. He enjoys gardening and playing with and babysitting the grandchildren.
