USS West Virginia Veteran

Rufus D. Mitchell served on the USS West Virginia while it was attacked and sunk at Pearl Harbor, he survived, and was assigned to another ship, the USS Lexington.  This aircraft carrier was torpedoed as well, and he survived that.  He later on was killed by friendly fire.
