Thomas Bond is a Pearl Harbor Survivor from the USS West Virginia. He was on broadside gun #5 when the attack started.   He was 21 years old and was a bosun 3rd class. After the attack he was on a crane barge helping in the aftermath. He rode the W.V. back to Bremerton Naval Shipyard for repairs. Shortly after arriving in Bremerton he was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer. He spent 42 years in the navy and retired as a Master Chief Bosun. He passed away in 2007 and his ashes were spread at Pearl Harbor with full military honors.
