Giles H. Haynes, Electrician's Mate 2/c, born July 2, 1914, McKinney, TX. Education: Certificate of Management, TCU. He joined the USN Sept. 16, 1936, and was stationed at San Diego Training Station and in USS West Virginia.

Memorable Experiences: He was active in sports and participated in several of the Iron Man competitions; also was the starting left tackle on the 1938 football team.

Discharged Sept. 12, 1940, as EM2/c. He was married to Neitha Nixon on July 16, 1939, by the ship's chaplain at Bremerton, WA. They have two children and five grandchildren. Employed 35 years with General Dynamics as an industrial engineer. Hobbies are golfing and fishing.
